As a Professional Sales and Distribution Executive, you will support IBM’s continued growth by bringing your business development, sales, account management and distribution skills to the table. Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Understand large and/or complex engagement, define and formulate partial or complete solutions and/or proposals and plans that successfully meet or exceed internal or external customer needs and expectations.

  • Assess existing processes, organization, systems and data against strategy, given strategic needs of clients and industry imperatives, define initiatives to close the gap, and recommend solutions that meet customer requirements .

  • Chase and close opportunities that are large are often cross-branded, and often include non-traditional terms and conditions and financial arrangements.

  • Apply fact-based decision making and critical thinking while infusing creativity to solve difficult problems and develop practical solutions to generate high quality work.

Required technical and business expertise

  • Analyze communication challenges and solve them using leadership competencies and IBM values ​​- use coaching principles and practices to key deal teams

  • Analyze how success in a transaction evolves from the vantage point of the clients – the challenges, turning points and final acceptance criteria – Connect with Client Senior Executives (CXOs) and board members and establish credibility, develop close, advisory relationships.

  • Generate and enhance value to be shared by IBM, partners and clients – Accurately define key “win” themes in the process of focusing and directing deal-making strategy, activities and resources

  • Negotiate a complex deal by weaving together multiple components from clients, partners and IBM – Use IBM’s executive power effectively and judiciously – Navigate and leverage IBM metrics – Measure progress in the SSM sales cycle and close the deal To proceed. – Recognize a bad deal early in the process, and know when to miss

Preferred technical and business expertise

  • Manage complex projects with multiple sub-projects, complex business processes, multiple releases, leading edge technologies, and/or high subcontractor dependencies. Understand and maintain the integrity of complex environments and large project teams.
